Welcome to OpenRush

OpenRush is a marketing data API built for AI agents. Connect it once over MCP, and your agent's answers come from live, cited data instead of guesses. This post is the short version: what OpenRush does today, why we built it, and where it's headed.

Dashboards are done

Marketing used to run on dashboards. You'd open a tool, read a chart, and decide what to do next. That workflow is fading fast, because the work now happens through agents, by conversation or autonomous execution. An agent doesn't need a dashboard. It needs data it can act on, and it needs to trust that data.

What OpenRush does today

Today OpenRush covers SEO and competitor data: search rankings, keyword demand, competitor analysis, keyword gaps, live SERPs, and site audits.

A real example: ask Claude "who are we losing traffic to and what should we do about it," and the agent pulls your rankings, identifies who's outranking you, runs a keyword gap against them, checks the live search results, and comes back with a cited plan. That's one conversation instead of a dozen open browser tabs, and every claim is backed by a fresh observation.

Built for agents, not dashboards

Most marketing APIs return raw dumps. That format was fine when a human sat in front of a dashboard, but it breaks an agent: it burns tokens and buries the decision under noise the model has to re-derive. We learned this building agents at our own agency, so we rebuilt the data layer for agents.

Three things are different:

  • Tools are named around a job to be done, not an endpoint.
  • Every output is normalized around facts, each carrying its own provenance: source, method, confidence, and freshness.
  • Payloads are pre-processed into compact, decision-ready context.

In our benchmarks, agents using OpenRush give better answers, respond 40% faster, and use 25% fewer tokens than the same raw upstream API.

Where OpenRush came from

OpenRush comes out of a problem its founders hit themselves. Sean and Vik ran Migrate AI, an AI-native SEO and growth agency where AI agents do the work. That followed six years of building AI apps and websites, and it worked: they reached top Google and AI search rankings for clients and drove tens of thousands of organic visits.

To make those agents effective, they needed data. Managing client OAuth connections, wrangling third-party APIs, and processing the results into something an agent could use was a constant drag. Sean and Vik solved it for their own agency, then watched every other agency owner around them stay stuck on the same problem. That gap is what OpenRush fills.

Where it's going

Today it's SEO and competitor data. Next we add ads, analytics, social, and CRM sources. The end state is one unified marketing data layer, where any agent can reason across your owned data and the open web in a single conversation.

The pull is already here

We get asked for OpenRush constantly. Most marketers we talk to haven't connected their data sources and have no agents running on a schedule, so they come to us for help. Agency owners want to close their dozens of tabs and stop wrangling APIs.

Connecting takes one setup step. OpenRush speaks MCP, so Claude, Cursor, Codex, or any MCP-compatible agent can call it. Point your agent at the server, and every marketing decision it makes is grounded in live, cited data.
